About Me
Welcome, I’m glad you’re here
My name is Jordan Chaplik (she/hers) and I’m a queer, Jewish, cis-female therapist. I obtained my Master’s in Social Work from The University of Chicago in 2018 and am licensed in both Illinois and Texas.
Through my years as both a school-based social worker and private practice therapist, I have extensive experience working with children, adolescents, teens and families from diverse backgrounds and identities. My therapeutic practice draws from many orientations and influences, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), trauma-informed therapy, humor, Internal Family Systems (IFS), anti-oppressive practices, harm reduction and person-centered approaches.
I believe in the strength of our therapeutic relationship, viewing our work together as a collaborative effort. Whether you’re coping with the death of a loved one, navigating a big life change, or experiencing difficulty in your relationships, I’m here to help you process your experiences, learn new skills, deepen your understanding of yourself and create meaningful change.
My specialties include but are not limited to working with grief, loss (all forms - death, break up, loss of self), trauma, depression, anxiety, relationships and emotional dysregulation. My approach is rooted in empathy and collaboration, recognizing the importance of individualizing my work with you based on your needs and life experiences. Together, we'll explore your strengths, challenges, and values, drawing on evidence-based techniques and personalized strategies to enhance your quality of life.
